Dear Confrere et Consoeurs: You really don't want to miss this one ! ! !

"Chef Willi Daffinger is one of the great European trained masters. Be ready to experience a grand dining experience like you haven't experienced in years. When Willi does a dinner like this, I will tell you that it will be great." Nick Colletti, retired Executive Chef, Duquesne Club.

"I have nothing but the highest regard for Willi's culinary expertise. You will not find a better suited or more talented chef to host the Chaine des Rotisseurs. He is extremely skilled and accomplished." Roland Schaeffer CEC, AAC, Senior Experimental Chef, Heinz USA.

"Willi is one of the finest chefs practicing Authentic Classic European Cuisine. Being a club chef, some may not recognize his name. If Chaine members do not recognize Willi's name now, they most certainly will recognize it after April 19th." Art Inzinga, Executive Chef, Siena

I am very pleased to announce our next Chaine gala, at Rolling Rock Country Club. Plan on arriving at Rodef Shalom's parking lot at 4905 Fifth Ave. in Oakland. We will depart by luxury motor coach on Sunday, April 19 1998 at 3:15 p.m. Do not be late as we will leave on time.

Rolling Rock's Manager, Robert Altimore, C.C.M., Executive Chef Willi Daffinger, and the entire staff of Rolling Rock Country Club have planned an absolutely fabulous evening for the Chaine. There has never been a Chaine Gala at Rolling Rock and they are really going all out to make this an extra special and memorable evening! Space is limited, so a quick response is essential.

Willi has cooked in cities such as St. Moritz, Hamburg, Munich and Brugg. He has cooked for many statesmen and celebrities including Queen Elizabeth and her husband, Nikita Krushchev, Charley Chaplin, the Kings of Sweden, Italy, Belgium, and so on and so on. On April 19th, he cooks for us!

This will be a black tie event, with decorations in order. May I please have your reservations by April 1st. Address them to my attention to avoid any post office confusion. The cost is one hundred twenty five dollars ($125.00) per person per member couple, and one hundred thirty five dollars ($135.00) per guest. Guests will be accommodated on a space available basis. Normal cancellation policies will apply. However after April 3rd, the "bus fare" is non refundable.

People have asked if it is OK to bring something to sip on during the ride to Rolling Rock. We will provide glasses if you choose to bring your favorite beverage. If there are any questions, contact me.

Vive la Chaine!
