Dear Confrere:
I am pleased to announce our next very special Chaine gala, a re-creation
of one of the most decadent dinners ever, Babette's Feast. This very special
evening will be Saturday Night, yes I said Saturday Night, June 21st,
1997 at 7:00 p.m. in the classiest dining room around, The Harvest Room
at the Doubletree Hotel. Babette's Feast you say? In it's entirety, plus
more!
We will have Caviar. We will have Foie Gras. We will have Quail. We will
have Truffles. Chef Grillardin & Doubletree Executive Chef Mike Fischetti
and Doubletree Director of Restaurant Operations Grainne Trainor will
host a fabulous evening and have even added to this decadence. Added,
you say?
Well yes, we will have 3 champagnes including two from Veuve Cliquot.
We will have a fine Amontillado. We couldn't get the 1845 Clos Vougeot,
but we found a great Vosne-Romanee. And we added to it. Babette didn't
follow the Clos Vougeot with a Big Bordeaux, but we will, with a Second
Label of a famous First Growth, paired with an additional Entree Course!
We will have Port. We will have Cognac. I told you that this one was decadent.
This will be a black tie event with decorations in order. May I please
have your reservations by June 6th, 1997. Address them to my attention
to avoid any post office confusion. The cost is one hundred ten dollars
($110.00) per person per member couple, and one hundred twenty dollars
($120.00) per guest. Guests will be accommodated on a space available
basis.
I look forward to seeing you at this wonderful evening at The Doubletree!
Vive la Chaine!
