Dear Confrere:
Well, last week, Lady Sarah Ferguson, her former royal highness, was in
Pittsburgh for a night or two. One night, she had a craving for great
Italian food. And where did she go? There was really no decision. As you
can see from the attached Post Gazette clipping, she and her entourage
selected Piccolo Piccolo!!! So if The Chaine wanted to recreate a Festive
Italian Winter Holiday Feast, where else would we go? I mean if Fergie
picked it,
I am pleased to announce our next special Chaine dinner, a re-creation
of an Italian, Winter Holiday Feast. (in August? Sure, Why not!) Maitre
de Table Restaurateur and co-owner, Frank Sacco, will host the Chaine
on Sunday, August 17, 1997 at 6:00 p.m. at Piccolo Piccolo, 1 Wood Street.
No matter where you are in Italy, this dinner is an extravagant seafood
banquet. Every village, every city, every region has their own time honored
culinary traditions that are expressed during the Holidays. Whether in
Venice or Piedmont, Mulberry St. in New York's Little Italy, or Wood Street
in Pittsburgh, people gather around the table to enjoy this culinary adventure.
We are even adjusting the traditional menu for non Italians, like me.
So come, and gather around the tables and enjoy a unique Chaine event.
This will be a business attire event with decorations in order. Festive
holiday attire, adjusted to the August climate is in order, also. May
I please have your reservations by August 8th, 1997. Address them to my
attention to avoid any post office confusion. The cost is one hundred
ten dollars ($110.00) per person per member couple, and one hundred twenty
dollars ($120.00) per guest. Guests will be accommodated on a space available
basis.
The parking lot next door is normally unattended Sundays, and is available
for our use. If they are open Sunday, their holiday spirit of giving will
not be present in August, and they will charge us all.
I look forward to seeing you at this fun and unique culinary experience
at Piccolo Piccolo!
Vive la Chaine!
